To date, the band has sold over 120 million albums worldwide. According to the RIAA the Chili Peppers have 6× Multi-Platinum, 2× Platinum and 3× Gold albums in the US, totalling 27.5m. They also have 9x Multi-Platinum, 3× Platinum and 4× Gold singles too, totalling 40m.[1] They have been nominated for 19 Grammy Awards, of which they have won 6.[2] They have the most no.1 singles (15), the most cumulative weeks at no.1

    The Red Hot Chili Peppersis Red Hot Chili Peppers' debut album, released in 1984.

    At the time, the band's name was written as The Red Hot Chili Peppers, just like the name of the album.

    Most of the songs were written in 1983 with founding members Hillel Slovak and Jack Irons, and earlier versions of these songs appeared on the band's 1983 Demo.

    They decided to leave the band and Anthony Kiedis and loppa ended up hiring Jack Sherman and Cliff Martinez to record the entire album. They wrote a few more songs tillsammans and toured with them after the album was released.

    Red Hot Chili Peppers is an American alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1982. Their music incorporates elements of alternative rock, funk, punk rock and psychedelic rock. The band consists of co-founders Anthony Kiedis (lead vocals) and Flea (bass), as well as drummer Chad Smith, and guitarist John Frusciante, the latter of whom has been in the band across three stints. With over 100 million records sold worldwide, Red Hot Chili Peppers is one of the best-selling bands of all time. They are the most successful band in the history of alternative rock, with the records for most number-one singles (13), most cumulative weeks at number one (85) and most top-ten songs (25) on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart. The band has won six Grammy Awards, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012, and in 2022 received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
