Don’t ever think there’s a single story for people of African descent in the United States. From the very beginning, some of us were from western Africa, while other were from the north. Some were explorers while too many others were enslaved. Some were always free, others had to purchase freedom or to fight for it. African Americans experienced all of this in our country’s history while Blacks are newer immigrants. This list of books includes African Americans, Ghanaian Americans, Afro Latine/x, Dominican Amerians, and Blacks who reside in England, Canada, and Nigeria.There is no single story.
