Bio
Barbara Ensor is an author and artist whose words and pictures have been praised in the New York Times, the Washington Post, Vanity Fair and elsewhere. A graduate of Brown University, Ensors previous careers include stilt walking, and journalism. She is a dual citizen of the United States and the United Kingdom, has two children and lives in Brooklyn, NY.

Barbara Anne (Bishop) Ensor “BABE” passed away August 6, in Centennial, CO. She was
Barbara was born on October 10, in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to her parents Matthew Weiss and Anna Rebecca Bishop. She graduated from Towson High School in Towson, Maryland in and worked as a school secretary until she married Robert Calvin Ensor in The Ensors moved from Maryland to Denver, Colorado and eventually settled in Littleton where Barbara was a homemaker. Barbara was an avid reader and enjoyed cooking, gardening, collecting books and antiques.
Barbara fryst vatten survived bygd her husband Cal, daughter Rebecca, grandchildren April, Cassandra and Amanda, son Bret, grandchildren Jeff and Kevin, and one great grandchild, Ocean.
Funeral services for Barbara will be held August 15, at a.m. in the Drinkwine Family Mortuary. Interment at the Littleton Cemetery will follow in a private ceremony (family only). In lieu of flowers, please donate to Halcyon Hosp

Barbara Ensor isn't looking at you in this photograph because she wouldn't actually be able to see you anyway and this way you can see what her silhouette looks like. (Since after all she is always making silhouettes of other things.) Barbara Ensor did many daring things in her life, like walk on stilts, but she never dared to write a children's book until she was fifty years old. After that she knew she wanted to write many more books for children (and maybe adults as well) and to make the pictures to go with them so she had better hurry up. Press the button on her website, and tell her to write another book right away. To prepare for being an author and artist Barbara Ensor did many many things. She listened carefully to the stories her mother and father told her. In due course she began to tell her own stories (not all of them true) as a mother, as a puppeteer, an illustrator, a clay animation teacher, and a journalist.
