Thomas Aiden Turgoose (born 11 February ) is an English actor. He has starred as Shaun in This Is England, This Is England '86 and This Is England '88.
Early life[]
Turgoose was born on 11 February and brought up in Grimsby, Lincolnshire. He attended Wintringham School.
Career[]
In his first film role in , aged 14, he played the lead character, Shaun, in This Is England, written and directed by Shane Meadows. He won a British Independent Film Award for the role.
On television he played the character Dizzy, a young boy mentored by Adam Solomons (Luke Treadaway), in the BBC drama series The Innocence Project. The programme was cancelled after eight episodes due to poor ratings and negative reviews. Turgoose's character was in six of the eight episodes.
In he was cast in a second Shane Meadows film, Somers Town, where he co-starred in a comedic role with young Polish actor Piotr Jagiello. Both young actors shared the "Best Actor in a Narrative Feature" award at
