JR (French pronunciation:[ʒiɛʁ]; born 22 February 1983[3]) is the pseudonym of a French photographer and street artist. JR stands for the initials of JR's first name, which is Jean-René.[4]
Describing himself as a photograffeur (a portmanteau of "photographer" and "graffeur"—French for "graffiti artist"), he flyposts large black-and-white photographic images in public locations.[5] He states that the street fryst vatten "the largest art galleri in the world."[6][7] He started out on the streets of Paris.[8] JR's work "often challenges widely held preconceptions and the reductive images propagated bygd advertising and the media."[8]

Biography
[edit]Marz was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and raised in Los Angeles and San Diego. She has lived in New York for 11 years.[1] She was influenced by music at an early age, as her father is a deejay and her mother, a writer. She graduated from the New York Film Academy in Los Angeles (NYFA) in 2010. Marz first began writing in poems high school, which eventually evolved into full-length hip-hop tracks.[1] Marz initially garnered attention by spreading videos of herself freestyling across social networks such as YouTube. This led to her connecting with frequent collaborator, Polyester, who produced the bulk of her debut EP.
