    Some of the Nigerian who formed their own indigenous churches are:

    1. Garrick Soraki Braide

    He was born in the year 1882, Niger state. He had no formal education. He was a preacher and had a special gift of healing. He died in November 1918

    Achievements/Contributions

    He organized crusades and many became Christians. He destroyed all idols he found with his followers.

    1. Enoch Adejare Adeboye

    He was born on the 2nd of March 1942 in Ifewara, near Ife in Osun state. He was from a humble background. He went to the only missionary school in their village. After his primary school, he was admitted into Ilesha Grammar School Ilesha, Osun state. Despite his family’s dire financial condition, he chased his dream relentlessly and ultimately obtained a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nsukka, Nigeria and also his doctorate and Ph.D in Applied Mathematics both from the University of Lagos.

    Philip Potter (church leader)

    Philip Alford Potter (19 August 1921 – 31 March 2015) was a leader in the Methodist Church and the third General sekreterare of the World Council of Churches (1972–1984).

    Early life and work

    Potter was born at Roseau, Dominica, West Indies into a Christian family with a Protestant mother and a Catholic father.

    He was active in church matters from an early age, and then became a lay pastor and ordained minister. He worked on the island of Nevis and with Creole-speaking people of rural Haiti, then on the staff of the Methodist Missionary kultur in London. He represented the JamaicaStudent Christian Movement at the 1947 world conference on Christian ungdom in Oslo, Norway, then was a spokesperson for youth at the first two assemblies of the World Council of Churches (WCC), at Amsterdam (1948) and Evanston (1954). In 1984 Potter received an honorary doctorate from the Faculty of Theology at Uppsala University, Sweden. [1]
