You can see more information on our departmental scholarships and access the applications on the Scholarship Application Page. The Office of Merit Scholarships, Fellowships & Awards maintains listings and information on merit based scholarships. Many of these scholarships have deadlines in early fall, so it is recommended that you look into them as early as possible. Included in the listings are the Marshall Scholarship, the Rhodes Scholarship, the Fulbright-Hayes Grant, the National Science Foundation Fellowship, the Truman Scholarship, and the Andrew Mellon Fellowships, among others. Students are encouraged to apply and include as part of their application a short personal statement (no more than one page) about their background, leadership, academic merit and plans. Applications are due the Friday before Fall Break begins. Scholarships are announced early spring semester and are awarded for the following academic year.
