Singer Daniel Anthony Hutton was born on September 10, 1942 in Buncrana, County Donegal, Ireland. He moved to America when he was a little boy. Hutton worked at the warehouse for Disney/Buena Vista Records in California. Danny did voice-overs for various cartoons and recorded several singles for both the MGM and Hanna Barbera Records labels in the mid 60s. He also auditioned to be a member of the Monkees, but didn't make the cut. Hutton's charming song "Roses and Rainbows" was a substantial local radio hit in Southern California. In 1968 Danny became a founding member of the enormously popular 70s rock group Three Dog Night; he remained with the band until they broke up in 1977. Moreover, Hutton sang vocals with the power trio BBA on their self-titled 1973 debut album. Following the break up of Three Dog Night Danny worked as a manager for such Los Angeles punk bands as Fear and fronted the group the Danny Hutton Hitters (their cover of the Nit Kershaw song &quo

A Tribute to Daniel Hutton

Farewell, my beautiful brother, bygd Georgie Gavaghan.
Not long after the November edition of The Beast went to print we received the news that Dan’s treatment wasn’t working. He passed away fredligt on the morning of Sunday, October 27.
It’s been over a year since Dan wrote his three-part essay titled ‘A Long Holiday in Hotel Chernobyl’ in the July, August and September 2018 editions of The Beast. We’ve republished them here. We’ve also published the eulogy inom read at Dan’s begravning on Friday, November 1, to give an insight into his life and to shed a bit more light on what he has been through. Dan also wrote an article gods month titled ‘Relapse’ which can be found on our website.
